Clyde L. Herrmann

Retired Sawhill foreman belonged to So. Py church


- — Clyde L. Herrmann of Brentwood Drive, Pymatuning Township, passed away at 4:21 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, in his home after an extended illness. He was 83.

Mr. Herrmann was born Sept. 19, 1930, in Sharon to Jacob and Sarah A. Barlett Herrmann.

He graduated from Sharpsville High School.

Clyde worked 30 years as a foreman for Sawhill Tubular until his retirement in 1985.

He was a member of South Pymatuning (Township) Community Church where he served as a lay leader. Clyde and his wife Barbara enjoyed a trip to the Holy Land with their church family in 1983. He loved and served the Lord.

Clyde enjoyed many hobbies. Earlier in life, he enjoyed roller skating, bowling, hunting and fishing. He was well-known as a master woodcarver, sharing many of his carvings with family and friends.

On Aug. 18, 1973, he married the former Barbara A. McGranahan, who survives at home.

Clyde is also survived by: three daughters, Beverly J. and her husband William Beck, New Bedford; Karen M. and her husband Claude “Rocky” Paugh, Wheatland; and Carol L. and her husband Johnny Rizk, Boardman, Ohio; two sisters, Multreda Stull, Franklin; and Esther Rockwell, Clark; a brother, James Herrmann and his wife Josephine, Sharpsville; three grandchildren, Tamara and her husband Nicholas Rosenfeldt, Daniel Roqueplot, and William Beck and his fiancée Brittany Kitzmiller; and six great-grandchildren, Brandon, Abby, Kyle, Caleb, Noah and John.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Herrmann; mother, Sarah A. Herrmann; infant daughters, Janet Marie Herrmann and Cheryl Ann Herrmann; brother, Carl Herrmann; and grandson, David Isaac Roqueplot.

The family would like to thank Family Hospice, especially Heather and Cindy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Clyde to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 1965 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, PA 16148.
