Nicholas ‘Nick’ E. Fabish

Westinghouse retiree was ardent Farrell Steelers fan

- — BUTLER COUNTY – Nicholas “Nick” E. Fabish, of Cranberry Place in Cranberry Township, passed peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, of natural causes in his residence at Cranberry Place, surrounded by his family. He was 93.

Mr. Fabish was born Aug. 16, 1920.

He graduated from Farrell High School in 1938; his passion for the Farrell Steelers was unrivaled.

He and his wife of 58 years, the former Helen Lucas, resided in Sharon until his retirement from the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp., at which time they moved to Palm Coast, Fla.

Nick loved singing, dancing and traveling. He was a loving father to his four children, a daughter, Elaine Jewart; and sons, Paul, Nick Jr. and Brian.  

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ura; and his sisters, Wilba, Rosie, Kecki and Honey.

He leaves behind nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Service: Liturgy at 11 a.m. Sunday (2-23-14) in St. Andrew’s Byzantine Church, Gibsonia.
