Thomas ‘Tom’ Reed

Grove City native was Air Force veteran


---- — AMARILLO, Texas – Thomas “Tom” Reed of Amarillo died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, in Amarillo. He was 60.

Tom was born Feb. 10, 1953, in Grove City.

He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam conflict and moved to Amarillo in 1976 from Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, N.M.

Tom was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was a member of the American Legion, the OOIDA and attended Kingswood United Methodist Church, Amarillo.

He married the love of his life, Ginger Brown, on Jan. 23, 1987, in Amarillo.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Reed; and two brothers, Edward and Larry Reed.

Tom is survived by his wife; a daughter, Jessica Reed; and two sons, Matt Reed and Travis Reed, all Amarillo; his mother, Mary A. Reed, Grove City; a sister, Pamela Reed Leskovac and her husband Bud, Galena, Ohio; and a grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) Association, 1275 K St. NW, Suite 250, Washington, DC 20005.

Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery, Pioneer Circle, Amarillo, with military honors by Disabled American Veterans Chapter 26.
