Former Sharon man served in Army


---- — CAMP HILL, Pa. – George H. Porterfield of Camp Hill, formerly of Sharon, passed away early Sunday morning, June 23, 2013, in Golden Living Center in Camp Hill. He was 39.

Mr. Porterfield was born Oct. 23, 1973, in Sharon.

George attended schools in Sharon and Mechanicsburg and served for a short period of time in the Army.

An auto accident 19 months ago left him a paraplegic; he had been residing at Golden Living Center for the past 15 months.

He will be missed by those who loved and cared for him.

Surviving are his father, Russell J. Porterfield and Angel S. Porterfield, Mechanicsburg; numerous aunts and uncles, Robert and Bert Porterfield, Esther Kellar, Molly Foy, Peggy and Robert Young, Connie Smith, Sam Reese, William and Dorothy Schell, Sunny Negrea, and John and Lindia Negrea; his cousins, John, Angel, William Jr. and Robert Schell; as well as numerous other cousins and friends, too numerous to mention.
