Josephine H. Roskos

Homemaker was active at Fatima-St. Ann’s Church

- — Josephine H. Roskos, formerly of Moss Avenue, Farrell, and Trace Street, Hermitage, passed away at 3:10 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, in John XXIII Home, Hermitage. She was 91.

Mrs. Roskos was born Sept. 13, 1922, in Youngstown, the youngest child of Frank and Maria Vitale Dalesandro.

She was a 1941 graduate of East High School, Youngstown.

Josephine was a homemaker and found great joy in cooking for her family.

A devout Catholic, she was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann’s Church, Farrell, where she belonged to its Altar and Rosary Society and Bethony Club.

She was a member of Sharpsville Woman’s Club, the former Farrell Kiwanianne Club and the Sixty-Five Card Club.

Her husband, George Roskos Jr., whom she married Jan. 18, 1950, passed away April 9, 1993.   

She is survived by: two sons, Richard T. Roskos and his wife Monique, Hermitage; and Robert G. Roskos, Hubbard; two grandchildren, Thomas Roskos and his wife Leah, Sharpsville; and Erica Roskos and her partner Mike Showalter, Sharon; and two great-grandsons, Emanuel and Nolan Roskos.

Besides her husband, Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Minnie, Philomena, Jennie and Mary; and four brothers, Anthony, Fred, Sam and Joseph Dalesandro.

Josephine’s family would like to thank the staff at John XXIII Home for their exceptional care during her residency.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann’s Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, PA 16121.

Interment: St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
