Kirila Contractors foreman was avid fisherman

POLAND, Ohio — Neil T. Bartalon, Canfield, Ohio, formerly of the Shenango Valley, died Monday morning (6-2-14) in Hospice House, Poland, surrounded by his family. He was 67.

Mr. Bartalon was born April 27, 1947, in Farrell to James and Margaret Evans Bartalon.

He was a graduate of Hickory High School, Hermitage, and attended Youngstown State University.

Neil worked as a foreman for Kirila Contractors in Brookfield for 30 years until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of Local 964 of the Laborers’ District, a Council of Western Pennsylvania.

Mr. Bartalon attended the United Methodist Church of Canfield.

Neil was an avid fisherman, enjoyed the outdoors and had a passion for rock and roll.

He is survived by: his wife, the former Sandra Connery, whom he married Aug. 22, 1970; a daughter, Callie and her husband Zachary Puskar, and a son, Jason Bartalon and his wife Kathleen, all Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Diane Poldy, Fairfax, Va.; a brother, Jamie Bartalon and his wife Rebecca, Arlington, Va.; two granddaughters, Evelyn and Madeline Bartalon; and his kidney donor, Jolene Smith.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to thank the staff at Advanced Dermatology of Youngstown for their support, the Cleveland Clinic, and Hospice House of the Valley for their care and compassion during his last few days.
