Julia A. Fink

W.T. Grant retiree was Legion Poppy Lady

---- — Julia A. Fink of Wheatland, passed away Monday morning, Aug. 5, 2013, in St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. She was 86.

A daughter of the late John Sinick and Mina Mosley Sinick Stiffler, Mrs. Fink was born July 8, 1927, in Cadogan, Armstrong County.

Mrs. Fink was a graduate of Indiana (Pa.) High School.

She retired from W.T. Grant, where she was the manager.

Mrs. Fink was an active member of Gentle Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Hermitage.

She enjoyed cooking for the many events for which she volunteered including Wheatland-Farrell United Methodist Church Vacation Bible School; Joshua’s Haven events in Sharon; Multiple Sclerosis Monster Stomp in New Castle; and the Wheatland town reunion.

Mrs. Fink was a volunteer and Poppy Lady for American Legion Auxiliary Unit 432 in Wheatland.

She loved her monthly luncheon outings with the Grant girls.

She is survived by: a son, Michael J. Fink and his wife Diane, Franklin Park; four brothers, George Sinick, Home, Pa.; Howard Stiffler and Ralph Stiffler, both Indiana, Pa.; and Lawrence Stiffler, Ernest, Pa.; four grandchildren, Tammy Rice, Shawn Rice, Christine Fink and Jennifer Fink; four great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Huddleston, Kassidy Henry, Kristina Young and Isabella Ambroselli; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Joseph Fink; a daughter, Betty Rice; two brothers, Frank and Mike Sinick; two sisters, Rose Uber and Mary Gresko; and a grandson, Christopher Fink.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Legion, 2 Cherry St., Wheatland, PA 16161; or Gentle Shepherd Church of the Nazarene, Box 1436, Hermitage, PA 16148.

Calling hours: Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday (8-9-13) in ROBINSON-LYTLE Inc., 36 N. Seventh St., Indiana, Pa.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday (8-10-13) in the funeral home with the Rev. G. Martin Gentzler, pastor of Gentle Shepherd Church of the Nazarene, Hermitage, officiating.

Interment: Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
