Christina ‘Chrissy’ E. Hurd

Ohio woman had master’s in early childhood ed


---- — Christina “Chrissy” E. Hurd, of Pennys Drive, Brunswick, Ohio, passed away at 6:40 p.m. Monday (7-1-13) in Cleveland Clinic. She was 31.

Ms. Hurd was born Sept. 15, 1981, in Cleveland, a daughter of Donald and Rita Messersmith Hurd.

Chrissy was a graduate of Brunswick High School. Following high school she went on to obtain her master’s degree in early childhood education from Ashland (Ohio) University.

She was of Methodist faith.

Chrissy enjoyed swimming and was wonderful with children.

Surviving are: her parents, Donald and Rita Hurd, Brunswick;  and her maternal grandmother, Lela Steingrabe. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Parker.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Fred and Jessie Hurd; and her maternal grandfather, Tom Messersmith.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Service: Funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday (7-9-13) at Westside Cemetery, Sharpsville, with the Rev. C. Charles Eckles, pastor of I.H.S. Gospel Ministries, Hermitage, officiating.

Burial: Interment in Westside Cemetery.
