Rev. Saunders was born Jan. 8, 1957, in Sharon, a son of Ernest and Bishop Sallie Saunders.
He was a 1975 graduate of Farrell High School and proudly served in the United States Army from 1976-1982.
Mr. Saunders was an ordained minister at Community Missionary Baptist Church, Farrell, where he faithfully served under the direction of the Rev. Robert E. Chavers.
Rev. Saunders was actively involved with Sunday school; he taught Bible study – he loved to teach the word of God, led prayer meetings and as a missionary he visited the sick.
Rev. Saunders loved his church family. Besides his involvement with his local church, he also volunteered his time with the Teen Challenge Organization and participated in various community activities.
Mr. Saunders found great delight in attending car shows and was an avid Steelers fan.
Mr. Saunders was a man who loved his wife.
Most of all, he was known by his warm and caring spirit and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, the former Annie Ree Odem; his children, Glenn C. Saunders, Farrell; Ralph R. Odem and his wife, Shayna, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Raquel Groom, Hermitage; Jessica Saunders, Pittsburgh; his mother, Bishop Sallie Saunders, Farrell; his sister, Kimberley Saunders, Hermitage; his aunts, Natalie Lampkins, Farrell; and Guanzetta Washington, Sharon; his special nephew, Zachariah Saunders, Hermitage; six grandchildren, including Diamonique Groom whom he reared, Hermitage; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
