Mary Frejd

Learning-disabled tutor served in Sharon church


- — Mary Frejd of Hubbard died Sunday morning, Dec. 29, 2013, in Clepper Manor in Sharon. She was 90.

Mrs. Frejd was born Nov. 14, 1923, in Sharpsville, a daughter of John and Gizella Garaj Faber.

She was a lifelong area resident and received her bachelor of science degree from Youngstown State University.

Mrs. Frejd was employed by ACLD in Sharon, where she was a tutor for the learning disabled. Prior to that, she worked for Hubbard School District.

Mary was a lifelong member of Sts. Peter and Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sharon, where she served as church secretary, choir director for the children’s choir and Sunday school teacher, and was a member of the Altar Guild.

She belonged to American Legion Unit 51 Woman’s Auxiliary, Hubbard, and the Hubbard Lyric Club.

Her husband, Oscar F. Frejd, whom she married July 11, 1952, died Sept. 25, 1974.

She leaves two daughters, Nancy E. Frejd, Boardman, Ohio; and Janice E. Pridon and her husband Steve, Bessemer, Pa.; and a grandson, Mikael Pridon.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Edward Faber.
