Valley Vulcan Mould retiree belonged to VFW


- — Ronald L. Deichler of Brookfield died Wednesday morning, Jan. 1, 2014, in his home. He was 76.

A lifelong Brookfield resident, Mr. Deichler was born Dec. 24, 1937, in Masury, a son of Edward A. and Margaret Allen Deichler.

He was a 1955 graduate of Brookfield High School and was a division controller for Valley Vulcan Mould, Hubbard, for 31 years, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of Masury United Methodist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3767, Hubbard.

Ronald loved Youngstown State and Ohio State football; attending Mahoning Valley Scrappers games; and working in his garden, reading and playing electronic hand-held games.

His wife, the former Barbara R. Oakley, whom he married Sept. 10, 1960, died Dec. 6, 2009.

He leaves: a son, Ronald A. Deichler and his wife Debbie, Tipp City, Ohio; a daughter, Karen S. Deichler, Hubbard; and a sister, Marie Pearce, Murrieta, Calif.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Nancy and Dorothy; and two brothers, C. Edward and Robert.
