Rachel G. Rodemoyer

Ga. institute retiree bowled in region, national tourneys


- — TUCKER, Ga. – Rachel G. Rodemoyer of Tucker passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, in her home. She was 74.

Rachel was married to Howard C. Rodemoyer, formerly of Fredonia, and recently celebrated 54 years of marriage.

Mrs. Rodemoyer was a daughter of the late William D. and Estelle Goza of Tucker, and sister to seven brothers and four sisters, including two surviving sisters, Mary G. Perry and Nancy C. Scott.

Rachel had four children, Jennifer R. Fitzgerald, John D. Rodemoyer, Joy L. Rodemoyer and Jeffrey H. Rodemoyer; and three grandchildren, Taylor E. Fitzgerald, William H. Rodemoyer and Julia E. Rodemoyer, all of whom she greatly adored.

Rachel graduated from Clarkston (Ga.) High School in 1957.

After graduation, she was employed by Atlanta Coca-Cola Bottling Co. until 1967. She later worked at the Georgia Institute of Technology, from which she retired after 27 years of service.

She was an avid bowler for more than 50 years and bowled in several regional and national tournaments.

She was also one of the Atlanta Braves’ biggest fans.
