Lois Elaine Johnson

Retired teacher born in Sharon lived in S. Carolina


- — Lois Elaine Adams Johnson of 1705 Skylyn Drive, Spartanburg, S.C., passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at the Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg. She was 74.

Mrs. Johnson was born Sept. 24, 1939, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Margaret (Boyd) Adams and Walter Adams.

She was a graduate of the University of Indiana at Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Johnson was a retired school teacher, having taught at Broome High School and Cowpens Junior and Middle Schools.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Women’s Jubilee Club and the National Education Association.

Lois is survived by a daughter, Sharon Anderson O’Donnell (James), Fort Worth, Texas; and a son, James E. Anderson, Enoree, S.C.

She is also survived by her first husband, Rodney D. Anderson, Tallahassee, Fla.; four granddaughters, Margaret Anderson, Alaska; Victoria Anderson and Alexandria Anderson, both Tryon, N.C.; and Heather O’Donnell, Fort Worth; four grandsons, Scott Anderson, Donovan Anderson and Benjamin Anderson, all Alaska; and Sean O’Donnell, Fort Worth.

She was predeceased by her adopted son, Bradley Lanford.

Service: Funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. A. Stephen Holler, with eulogy by Sharon O’Donnell, deceased’s daughter.
