Renee Elaine Wilson Semerod

Lutheran church member was volunteer, waitress

- — Born Jan. 23, 1936, in Albion, Pa., Mrs. Semerod was a daughter of James E. and Florence Peck Willson.

Renee graduated from Meadville Area High School in 1954.

On Sept. 23, 1954, she married Frank Semerod, with whom she recently celebrated a 59th wedding anniversary.

She was a loving wife and sister, a devoted friend and a caring mother to her daughters, Cindy, who had cerebral palsy, and to Cathy; and grandmother to her grandsons, Kelly and Christopher.

Renee was an active volunteer in many community organizations while residing in Meadville and also worked as a waitress in several of the finest restaurants in Meadville throughout the late 1960s and ’70s.

Frank and Renee retired to Slippery Rock in 1997.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Grove City.

Renee enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching, reading and taking care of others. Her spirit was one of kindness, gentleness and compassion.

In addition to her husband, Frank, she is survived by: her daughter, Cathy Chutz and her husband Wayne, and grandson, Christopher Chutz, all Grove City; sister, Sharon Sheetz, Fletcher, N.C.; and brothers, Richard Wilson and his wife Lorraine, The Villages, Fla.; and Neil Wilson and his wife Jacqueline, Painesville, Ohio; in addition to several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her daughter, Cindy Marie Semerod; and her grandson, Kelly Edward Chutz.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 819 Columbia Ave., or Trinity Living Center, Memory Lane, both Grove City, PA 16127.

Mrs. Frank (Renee Elaine Wilson), 77, Slippery Rock, formerly of Meadville.

Service: Private service will be held at a later date.
