- — Mrs. Scott was born June 26, 1922, in Lima, Ohio, a daughter of Dr. John H. Blattenberg and Helen Mae Hoffer Blattenberg.

She graduated from Lima Central High School in 1940 and began her studies at Denison University, Granville, Ohio, where she was an art major. After World War II was declared she transferred to Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, from which she earned a bachelor of science degree in business in 1944.

Mrs. Scott retired in 2000 from J.C. Penney Co. in Hermitage, where she was a sales associate for more than 25 years. Early in her life, she worked in the advertising department of the Rike-Kumler Department Store in Dayton, Ohio.

She was a member of Hickory United Methodist Church, Hermitage.

In retirement, Ann enjoyed traveling with her family, friends and the Alumni Association of Miami University.

Her husband, William H. Scott, whom she married Oct. 9, 1948, in Trinity United Methodist Church, Lima, passed away March 4, 1970.

She is survived by: a daughter, Laura Scott Claire and her husband David, Ashburn, Va.; a son, Stephen J. Scott and his wife Lisa, Pittsburgh; and four grandchildren, Corbin and Collin Claire and Moria and Severin Scott.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Animal Rescue League, 6620 Hamilton Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15206.
