Butler man born in Sharon was chemical salesman


- — PITTSBURGH – William L. Duncan of Butler passed away at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014, in Forbes Hospice in Pittsburgh. He was 69.

Mr. Duncan was born Jan. 23, 1945, in Sharon to Victor T. Duncan and Dorothy Headley Duncan.

Mr. Duncan received an associate’s degree from the Shenango campus of Penn State University, Sharon.

He worked as a chemical salesperson.

Mr. Duncan was a former member of North Main Street Church of God, Butler.

He is survived by his wife, the former Karen Miller, whom he married Sept. 14, 1984; three daughters, Lisa Duncan, Butler; Danielle Duncan, Edinboro; and Dorene Sommers and her husband Stephen, Fairview; a granddaughter, Malia Sommers; two brothers, Richard Duncan, Sharon; and Daniel Duncan, Houston; several nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Margaret M. Duncan, Conneaut Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Mary Rankin Duncan; and his brother, David Duncan.
