William Waclaski

WE retiree was county bowling hall-of-famer

- — A funeral service will be held Wednesday for William Waclaski of Brookfield, who passed away Friday afternoon, March 7, 2014, in Heritage Manor in Youngstown. He was 90.

He was born July 15, 1923, in Donora, Pa., a son of Joseph and Helen Beck Waclaski.

He was a graduate of the former Hartford High School.

He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater on the U.S.S. Jason.

He retired from the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. after working 37 years as an electrical transformer tester. After retirement, he worked part-time at Madasz Funeral Home, Brookfield.

He was inducted into the Mercer County Bowling Hall of Fame in 2009. He was a life member of the “700” Bowling Club of America and was a member of the Westinghouse Clerks Association.

Besides bowling, he enjoyed polka dancing and golf, getting a hole-in-one in 1988.

He is survived by four daughters, Jinx Jervis and her husband Ted, Youngstown; Jill Madasz and her husband John III, Brookfield; Jaci Collier Jr. and her husband Robert, Hubbard; and Joni Waclaski, Hubbard; a son, Kirk Waclaski and his wife Lucinda, Hartford; and seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and George Waclaski; and his former wife, Amy Krichko.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday (3-12-14) in the funeral home.

Burial: Brookfield Township Cemetery.
