Alice Jane Wardle-Garfoli, Scott Township, Lawrence County, died at 8:47 a.m. Tuesday (3-26-13) in Jameson Memorial Hospital, New Castle. She was 85.            

She was born Jan. 19, 1928, in Scienceville, Ohio, to James and Alice Weaver Wardle. She married Anthony R. Garfoli on July 23, 1949. He preceded her in death April 5, 1988.

She was a member of First United Brethren Church, New Castle.

She loved doing puzzles and playing Nintendo.

She is survived by: two daughters, Susan and her husband Kerry Brown, Slippery Rock; and Jennifer and her husband Burt Packard, Volant; a son, Francis and his wife Sis Garfoli, Sharpsville; a sister, Nancy and her husband Paul Vohar, Youngstown; a son-in-law, Jeff Alderman, Troy, NY; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a baby son; a daughter, Jill Alderman; five brothers; and five sisters.

Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday (3-28-13) in SMITH FUNERAL HOME of LEESBURG, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday (3-29-13) in the funeral home, with the Rev. David Bell, pastor of First United Brethren Church, New Castle, officiating.

Burial: Jackson Cemetery, Coitsville, Ohio.
