Donna Lou Hudson

Active church member was head cook for WM schools

---- — Donna Lou Hudson, Bend Road, Lackawannock Township, died at 10 a.m. Saturday (5-4-13) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 76.

Mrs. Hudson was born Feb. 5, 1937, in Sharon to William and Mabel McCartney McIntire. On Oct. 6, 1961, she married James H. Hudson. He preceded her in death Feb. 11, 2013.

She was a 1955 graduate of West Middlesex High School and attended Youngstown State University.

Donna worked for Golden Dawn Foods in Sharon for 15 years, then worked for 25 years as cafeteria head cook for West Middlesex Area School District.

She was a 50-year member of Unity Presbyterian Church in Greenfield, where she was a member of the Kitchen Christian Sunday School Class. Donna formerly was a Christian Endeavor adviser for Junior Christian Endeavor and song leader. She taught Sunday school for kindergarten. She was Sunday school attendance secretary since 1982.

Donna belonged to the chancel choir, Presbyterian Women and the Magic Agers.

She enjoyed cooking, reading and camping, and spending time with her family, being involved with her grandchildren’s sports.

She is survived by a daughter, Sherrie L. Bush and her husband William “Wilbur,” Hermitage; two sons, William J. Hudson and his wife Karen, Mercer; and David W. Hudson and his wife Cindy, Pittsburgh; two sisters, Janet Ruth Lutton and her companion Robert Nelson, Mercer; and Darlene Lutton and her husband, Ted, Sharon; five grandchildren, Stephanie Bush, and Billy, Graham, Victoria and Vanessa Hudson; a special niece, Linda Bish; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church.

Service: Funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday (5-9-13) in Unity Presbyterian Church, 1857 Mercer-West Middlesex Road, Lackawannock Township, with the Rev. David Wayne Hunt, pastor, officiating.

Entombment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
