Clifford ‘Moe’ Moyer Jr.

Damascus Tube retiree was league golfer, bowler


---- — PITTSBURGH – Clifford “Moe” Moyer Jr. of 680 Canal St., Beaver, formerly of 27 York St., Greenville, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Sunday, May 12, 2013, in Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC in Pittsburgh. He was 78.

Mr. Moyer was born Jan. 13, 1935, in Fredonia to Clifford Moyer Sr. and Mary Stewart Moyer Sr.

Moe was a graduate of the former Penn High School, Greenville, and served in the Army.

He retired from Damascus Tube after 35 years of service.

He was a member of St. Michael’s Church and was a life member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 276, both Greenville.

Moe enjoyed golfing and bowling and belonged to local leagues.

He was married to the former Anne Bresnan in May 1965; she preceded him in death July 15, 1999.

Moe is survived by: twin daughters, Joan Doerr and her husband Jeffrey, Cranberry Township; and Jane Milburn, Beaver; a son, Matt Moyer, Los Angeles; three grandchildren, Drey Riffle, Beaver; and Erik Doerr and Brendan Doerr, both Cranberry Township; and a sister, Louise Limber; and brother, Donald “Doc” Moyer, both Greenville.

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Friday (5-17-13) in St. Michael’s Church, 85 N. High St., Greenville, with the Rev. Christopher M. Barnes, parochial vicar, as celebrant.

Interment: With committal service at Delaware (Township) Cemetery.
