Alice M. Rape

Grace Methodist member was retired bookkeeper

---- — Alice M. Rape, a resident for five years of College View Towers, 301 S. Broad St., Grove City, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after a brief illness. She was 91.

Mrs. Rape was born Sept. 3, 1921, in Greenville to Warren C. Hecker and Nannie Elder Hecker.

She retired as a bookkeeper from the former Book-Davis Co. of Grove City and was a local Avon representative.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City.

Alice was very health conscious, keeping fit by exercising daily and staying active in the community. She participated in most of the social activities at College View Towers.

Her husband, John W. Dickson, whom she married July 25, 1940, passed away Aug. 6, 1974. She then married Alvin R. Rape on June 11, 1975; he passed away March 19, 2008.

Surviving are: three sons, Howard Dickson and his wife Rita, Tampa, Fla.; John Dickson, Grove City; and Thomas Dickson, Ann Arbor, Mich.; two stepdaughters, Jenny Rape, Harrisville; and Bonnie Brown and her husband Bruce, East Palestine, Ohio; a stepbrother, William "Bill" Hecker and his wife Marian, Kinsman; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.

Besides both husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Dickson; three stepchildren, Alvin, Shirley and Timothy Rape; and two sisters, Mary Filer and Helen McCormick.

Memorial contributions may be made in Alice’s memory to Grace United Methodist Church, 210 S. Broad St., Grove City, PA 16127.

Mrs. Alvin R. (Alice M. Dickson), 91, College View Towers, 301 S. Broad St., Grove City.

Calling hours: 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday (5-20-13) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Service: Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (5-21-13) in the funeral home with the Rev. Willard S. Morse, visitation pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City, officiating.

Interment: Crestview Memorial Park Inc., Pine Township.
