Lillian Mae Givner

Greater Mount Zion church member was nurse


---- — Lillian Mae Givner of Farrell departed this life at 6:35 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, in Clepper Manor, Sharon. She was 86 years old.

Mrs. Givner was born Aug. 31, 1926, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Eugene and Georgia Gentry Price Walker. She came to the Shenango Valley many years ago.

Mrs. Givner was formerly employed as a licensed practical nurse.

As a faithful member of Greater Mount Zion Church of God in Christ, Farrell, she served as one of the church mothers.

Mrs. Givner loved to spend her spare time with family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Darryl Givner, Farrell, with whom she made her home; her daughter, Daphne Givner, Pittsburgh; her brother, Eugene Walker and his wife Audrey, Maryland; her goddaughter, Marva Fountaine and her husband Clifford, Piscataway, N.J.; her goddaughter and dear friend, Lois Barlow, Sharon; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ulysses Givner; and her son, Gregory Howard.

Calling hours: Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to time of service Monday (4-8-13) in Greater Mount Zion Church of God in Christ, 1825 Roemer Blvd., Farrell. Please visit to leave condolences or sign an online guestbook.

Service: Funeral celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Monday in the church with Elder Tyrone Steals, pastor, officiating.

Interment: Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage.
