---- — Mary Jane Kintz Pears of 303 E. Butler St., Mercer, passed away at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, in UPMC Horizon, Greenville. She was 81.

Mrs. Pears was born June 5, 1931, in Ligonier, Pa., to Leonard A. Kintz and Mary Ruth Ambrose Kintz.

She was employed as a baker at Mercer Elementary School and owned and operated the Knitting Basket.

Mrs. Pears was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Mercer. She enjoyed dogs.

Her husband, Keith W. Pears, whom she married April 10, 1950, died Feb. 24, 1986.

Surviving are two daughters, Vicki Ruth Breauchy, Goose Creek, S.C.; and Christine A. Pears, Girard, Erie County; two sons, Leonard C. “Bud” Pears, Fredonia; and Randy K. Pears, Mercer; and eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Pears was preceded in death by her parents.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday (4-13-13) in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. William P. Crooks, pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Mercer, officiating.

Interment: Findley (Township) Cemetery.
