Phyllis M. Campbell, formerly of Stoneboro, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at 1:41 p.m. Friday (2-21-14) in Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Grove City. She was 86.
Born Aug. 13, 1927 in Venango County, she was a daughter of Floyd T. and Blanche M. Kerr Shuffstall.
She was a 1945 graduate of the former Fredonia-Delaware High School.
For many years she worked as an aide for the former Mercer County Home, then retired from Howard Johnson’s Motor Lodge, Mercer, where she was head housekeeper for more than 20 years.
She enjoyed playing cards and bowling in leagues for many years.
Most of all, Phyllis loved spending her time with family and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid supporter of her grandchildren’s activities and sporting events.
Her husband, Edwin C. Campbell, whom she married April 17, 1947, preceded her in death March 17, 2003.
Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Gadsby and her husband Keith, Stoneboro; and Linda Chisholm and her husband Dale, Sandy Lake; two sons, Edwin C. Campbell III and his wife Maxine; and David M. Campbell and his wife Tamara, all Stoneboro; 10 grandchildren, Sherah Campbell and her fiancé Mark Sontheimer, Sandy Lake; Brent Campbell; Jason Gadsby and his wife Cassie; Adam Gadsby; Mindi Gilarno and her husband Nick; and Cody Campbell, all Stoneboro; Justin Gadsby and his wife Jessica, Fredonia; Jamie Kerr, Wilmington, N.C.; Timothy Gadsby and his companion Stacey Johnson; Massillon, Ohio; and Lauren Watkins and her husband Chad, Culpepper, Va.; 19 great-grandchildren, Kelsey Campbell and Kristine Campbell, both Clarks Mills; Kayla Schiestle and her husband Jonathan, Gretchen Kish and Danielle and Allison Sontheimer, all Sandy Lake; Garrett, Grace and Jackson Gadsby, Reese Gadsby and Drew and Weston Gilarno, all Stoneboro; Cassidy, Julia and Josie Gadsby, Fredonia; Zoe and Madelyn Kerr and Berlin Wright, all Wilmington; and Keira Watkins, Culpepper; two sisters, Virginia Means and Lylalee Ryder, both Mercer; and a brother, Floyd “Bud” Shuffstall and his wife Patti, Fredonia.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Nancy Jo Campbell; a sister, Joan P. Huey; a brother, David Shuffstall; and a grandson-in-law, Charles A. Kish.

Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake Township.
