Pool player, mechanic had passion for working on cars

- — Jesse J. Wasser, 148 Columbia Ave., Greenville, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday (3-2-14) due to injuries from an automobile accident in West Salem Township. He was 29.

Born Dec. 7, 1984, in Grove City, he was a son of Daniel A. and Donna I. Strathmann Wasser.

Mr. Wasser was a 2003 graduate of Lakeview High School and attended Northwestern University of Lima, Ohio, for two years. He also attended the Mercer County Career Center and studied auto mechanics.

Jesse had a passion for working on cars as a mechanic and spent several years working for Joe Brown’s Auto of Greenville. He was currently working for Rodgers Sand Blasting and Painting of Mercer.

He was an avid pool player loved playing in pool tournaments. He was a member of the APA, (Amateur Pool Players Association) and a member of TAP (Pool Amateur Tour).

He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He leaves behind his fiancée, Michelle Foust-Kiser, and her two daughters, Brooke and Cheyenne Kiser, all at home; his mother Donna I. Wasser and stepfather Herbert Kautchick, Jackson Center; his father Daniel A. Wasser and his fiancée Rickie Nearhoof, Greenville; three sisters: Brandee Wasser and her fiancée Brian Thompson, Sharpsville; Tiffanee Wasser and her fiancée Keith Allen, Grove City; and Tracee Wasser, Greenville; also many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elizabeth “Betty” Schweinberg and Elmer Haylett, and paternal grandparents, James and Alma Wasser.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family through the funeral home to help defray expenses.

Service: Funeral service at 6 p.m. today in the funeral home with the Rev. Susan M. Hoover, pastor of Methodists United in Faith, officiating.
