John K. Palko

1982 Kennedy graduate was union carpenter


---- — BEAVER COUNTY – A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday for John K. Palko, 137 Maplehurst Drive, Raccoon Township, formerly of Farrell. He passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, March 30, 2013, in his home. John was 48.

Mr. Palko was born July 17, 1964, in Sharon, a son of John L. and Helen Valent Palko.

He attended Notre Dame parochial school and was a 1982 graduate of what was then called Kennedy Christian High School, both of Hermitage.

He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church, Farrell.

John was a union carpenter for 28 years and employed by The Hudson Group, Hermitage.

John loved to take his son Jacob fishing in Raccoon Creek, and quad riding, with Jack following closely behind. He also enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Slovak Home, Farrell.

John will be missed very much by his family, friends and co-workers.

He is survived by his wife, the former Jill A. Goebel, whom he married June 9, 2000; his 10-year-old son, Jacob Kevin Palko; his father, John L. Palko, Farrell; two brothers, Brian Palko and his wife Donna, Grove City; and Gary Palko, Jefferson Township; a special aunt, Marlene Cerbus, Hermitage; many other aunts, uncles and cousins; and Jack, his beloved golden retriever.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Thursday (4-4-13) in Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann’s Church, Farrell, with the Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: St. Ann’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
