Catherine R. ‘Kay’ Pisegna

Kaufmann’s retiree was Croatian Home member

- — Mrs. Pisegna was born Nov. 18, 1930, in Sharon, a daughter of Stefan and Amelia Bonjekovic Rendick.

She was a lifelong area resident and attended Sharon schools.

Kay retired from Kaufmann’s and previously worked as a waitress at a number of local establishments, including the former John Schuster’s Steak House, Masury; Jerry Chic’s, Hermitage; and Holiday Inn of Sharon, Hermitage.

During World War II, she was employed at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp.

Kay was a member of St. Anthony’s Church, Sharon. She enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Croatian Home in Farrell.

Her husband, Albert Pisegna, whom she married July 9, 1955, passed away Oct. 18, 2006.

Surviving is her precious daughter, Lynn P. Flower and her husband Shawn, Hermitage; and two grandchildren, who were the diamonds in her life, Stefan P. Flower and Andrea P. Flower, both Pittsburgh.

She also leaves a sister, Ann Danessa Kuti, Sharon; a brother, John Rendick, a resident at Juniper Village, also Sharon; and many nieces and nephews, to whom she was close.

Besides her husband, Kay was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lorraine Pisegna; four brothers, George Rendick, and three who died in infancy, Frank, Joseph and Stefan Rendick; and two sisters, Mary Vranich and Frances Markick.

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Monday (11-18-13) in St. Anthony’s Church, Sharon, with the Rev. Joseph Campbell, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
