Fredrick A. Randall

East Main church member retired from Sharon Steel


---- — Fredrick A. Randall of Grove City, passed away unexpectedly at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013, in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. He was 79.

Mr. Randall was born Oct. 7, 1933, in New Castle to William S. Randall and Margaret K. Nelson Randall.

He retired in 1992 from the former Sharon Steel Corp.’s Farrell plant, where he was a bundler inspector for 40 years. Previously he worked for the former Ideal Bakery, Farrell, and Howe Coffee Co., Grove City, for one year each.

Fred served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956.

He was a member of East Main Presbyterian Church, Grove City; and Local 1197 of United Steelworkers; and was a past member of the former Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Grove City.

Married for almost 60 years, his wife, the former Judith C. Borchert, whom he married Oct. 24, 1953, survives at home.

Also surviving are: three children, Steve Randall and his wife Carol, New Orleans; Ken Randall and his wife Lori, Butler; and Alan Randall and his wife Cathie, Exton, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and a brother, the Rev. William Randall and his wife Avis, Muskegon, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Kathleen Poole; and a brother, Robert Randall.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday (7-27-13) in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. William S. Hoffman Jr., senior pastor of East Main Presbyterian Church, Grove City, officiating.

Interment: Union Home Cemetery, Wolf Creek Township.
