Richard ‘Dick’ C. Lowrey

National Fuel retiree had daughter in Hermitage


---- — ERIE -- Richard “Dick” C. Lowrey of Wattsburg, passed away Wednesday evening, July 24, 2013, in St. Vincent Health Center, Erie. He was 77.

Mr. Lowrey was born June 22, 1936, in Oil City, a son of Audell Clark Lowrey and the late Herbert Lowrey.

He retired from National Fuel where he worked in the land leasing department.

Along with his wife, he enjoyed his winters in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and summers in the Jamestown area.

He was a youth baseball coach in Hermitage and was a past member of Hickory United Methodist Church, Hermitage, where he was an usher. He was currently a member of both Lowville United Methodist Church and The Chapel in Myrtle Beach, serving as an usher at both congregations.

Dick was a real “people person” with a wonderful sense of humor who made everyone feel comfortable in his presence. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, hunting and camping.

Dick was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, who will be greatly missed by: his loving wife of 53 years, Evalyn Lafferty Lowrey; their three children, Linda Doutt and her husband Richard, Hermitage; Rick Lowrey and his wife Diane, Harrisville; and Debby Peck and her husband Phil, Wattsburg; eight grandchildren, Krista Haswell and her husband Kevin, Kheila Dunkerly and her husband Beau, Kendra Darr and her husband Dan, Elyse and Victoria Lowrey, and Austin, Brandon and Marshall Peck; and five great-grandchildren, Liam and Olivia Haswell, James and Jack Dunkerly and Keira Darr.
