Cooper Bessemer retiree also retired from PennDOT


---- — Melvin Gerald Robinson of Springfield Township (Grove City) passed away at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, in his residence. He was 82.

Mr. Robinson was born Oct. 18, 1930, in Butler to Harry Edward Robinson and Stella Lorena Kelly Robinson.

He was an Army veteran, having served in the Korean conflict.

Mr. Robinson retired from Cooper Bessemer, Grove City; and later retired from Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, where he worked for 21 years.

He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are: a daughter, Judith Trowbridge, Grove City; three granddaughters, Brandy and her husband Doug Bennett; and Lori Hill and her companion Carl Shipton, all Grove City; and Rhondy and her husband Joe Crawford, Mercer; and four brothers, Randy, Gary and Richard Robinson, all Grove City; and Laurie and his wife Susan Robinson, Hartsville, S.C.

Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a companion, Mary Robinson; a brother, Ronald; three sisters, Rose Robinson, Janet Seelbaugh and an infant, Ethel Marie; and a son-in-law, Ronald Trowbridge.

Service: Funeral services at 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
