Kathryn ‘Kathy’ R. Kormos

Receptionist was member of Order of Eastern Star


---- — Kathryn “Kathy” R.  Kormos of Hempfield Township passed away at 10:57 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, in her residence surrounded by her family after an extended illness. She was 59.

Mrs. Kormos was born Dec. 3, 1953, in Meadville to Alfred and Marilyn Emert Johnson.

She graduated in 1972 from Greenville High School.

Kathy was a receptionist for more than 20 years for Dr. Edmund Rowland, who is deceased.

Kathy attended Atlantic Congregational Church and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed making cards, doing arts and crafts and caring for others.

Her husband, Thomas Kormos, whom she married June 28, 1974, survives at home.

Also surviving are: a son, Ed Kormos and his wife Megan, Indiana, Pa.; a brother, Seth Johnson and his wife Evelyn, Greenville; a granddaughter, Ella Day Kormos, Indiana; and her mother-in-law, Helen Kormos, Hempfield Township.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Alfred and Walter Johnson; and her father-in-law, Louis Kormos.
