Terry Ann ‘Nana’ Douglass

Homemaker formerly of Farrell cared for children


- — BALTIMORE – A funeral service will be held Monday for Terry Ann “Nana” Douglass of Baltimore, formerly of Farrell. She departed this life to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013. She was 56 years old.

Ms. Douglass was born March 1, 1957, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a daughter of Ronald J. Gibbs and Roberta M. “Ms. Kitty” Wellsey, and was reared by her stepfather, Douglas F. “Kokomo” Smith.

Terry attended Farrell High School and later moved to Baltimore, where she chose to spend her adult life.

She was a loving and caring homemaker and was very passionate about her children. Terry was a woman who was most considered to be an “angel” who touched all she came in contact with.

Her hobbies included caring for babies and children.

Terry was a warm and caring mother, daughter, sister and friend who will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Terry leaves to cherish her memory: her lifelong partner and husband, Charles D. Spriggs Sr.; her daughter, Tamathia M. Davis-Wilson and her husband Dorell, Sharon; her three boys, whom she reared, Torian R. Wellsey and his wife Kara, Baltimore; Robert T. Wellsey, Farrell; and Tylan J. “BooBoo” White, Baltimore; her stepson, Charles D. Spriggs Jr., also Baltimore; her brother, John A. “Tony” Boatwright, Florence, S.C.; her sister, Tamika Y. Wellsey, Baltimore; her stepsister, Theresa M. Polite, Youngstown; and four grandchildren, Isreal I. Spriggs, Dashawn D. Richardson, Dorell A. Wilson Jr. and Charles I. Wellsey.

She is also survived by her mother and stepfather, both Farrell; her favorite uncle, Lafayette “Bobby” El and his wife Mae; her aunt, Emily Boatwright; her close friend, Jenna L. Connors; her sister-in-law, Tina Douglass; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Terry was preceded in death by her father; her brother, Tracy Wellsey; her nephew, Tracy Wellsey Jr.; four aunts, Lena Farrow, Leola Garner, Hattie Davis and Martha E. Sherrill; her cousin, Robert Dwayne Hunter; her grandfather, Marine “Honey” Davis; and her beloved “Chico.”

Memorial contributions may be made to Terry’s immediate family.
