Victor Walter Darling

30-year truck driver enjoyed hunting, fishing

- — Victor Walter Darling, Lilac Drive, West Middlesex (Shenango Township), died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, in a traffic accident on Interstate 80 near Emlenton. He was 59.

Mr. Darling was born in Tarentum, Allegheny County, to Robert Darling and Doris Lauer Darling Dudzinski.

He married his high school sweetheart, the former Kande Riddle,  on Aug. 18, 1973.

He was a member of West Middlesex Presbyterian Church.

A truck driver, his career spanned more than 30 years. He was a driver for ABF Trucking, North Lima, Ohio, and formerly worked for Preston Trucking, West Middlesex, and Wayne Sell, Cabot, Pa.

An outdoorsman and member of the Forest County Sportsmen’s Club and the National Rifle Association, Mr. Darling enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting and going to the family camp “Bearadise” in Forest County.

Most important to him was spending time with his family and “granddogs” Benny and Abby.

Surviving are: his wife of 40 years, Kande, at home; his mother, Doris Darling Dudzinski, Cabot; a daughter, Lindsay Darling Petrosky and her husband T.J., Gibsonia; a son, Todd Darling, West Middlesex; two sisters, Bobbi Bricker and her husband Robert, Cabot; and Donna Mullan and her husband Edward, Butler; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronald and Karen Bennis, Apollo, Pa.; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

His father preceded him in death.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday (2-27-14) in Presbyterian Church of West Middlesex, 3082 Main St., with the Rev. Jason Hickman, pastor, officiating.
