Lynn V. McGranahan

WE retiree active in church drove bus, delivery truck

- — Lynn V. McGranahan of The Villas at St. Paul’s, East Jamestown Road, West Salem Township, died Feb. 25, 2014, at his home. He was 87.

Mr. McGranahan was born Aug. 31, 1926, in Greenville to Richard A. and Laura Harrison McGranahan.

He was a graduate of Sharon High School.

Lynn married his wife, Nola Fellnagle, on Dec. 31, 1934. She survives.

He retired with 35è years of service from the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp., where he also drove for the Westinghouse bus service.

In retirement, he drove for the former Bortner Tours. He also was a truck driver for Lean’s and Reinhard bakeries.

Lynn was a member of Zion Reformed Church in Greenville.  He was a former deacon and elder.

He was a member of Eureka Lodge 290; Masonic Lodge New Castle Consistory; Zem Zem Shrine, Erie; Mercer County Shrine Club and Wheel Patrol; and Greenville Elks Club.

Lynn enjoyed hunting and golfing with family and shooting at White Oak in Greenville. He also enjoyed western square dancing in Greenville and Conneaut Lake.

Surviving are his wife Nola; his son, David L. and his wife Nancy McGranahan, Harmony, Pa.; three grandchildren, Dana Stelitano, and Gregory and Scott McGranahan; and six great-grandchildren.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday (2-28-14) in the funeral home with the Rev. Rev. Philip Garner of Zion Reformed Church and Pastor Julia Fraser, chaplain of St. Paul’s, officiating.  

Burial: Hadley Cemetery.
