Mildred P. Hohmann

Grove City resident was longtime Butler Countian


- — Mildred P. Hohmann, a Grove City resident since 1995, formerly of Spring Street, Harmony, Butler County, for 52 years, died at 8:24 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, in Grove Manor Nursing Home, Grove City, following a brief illness. She was 97.

Mrs. Hohmann was born in Lockport, Ky. (Henry County), on March 5, 1916, a daughter of Leslie Parrish and Mary Ellen Wallace Parrish.

She married Floyd E. Hohmann on July 16, 1942; he passed away July 30, 1984.

Mildred was a homemaker, a member of Grace Church of Harmony, a volunteer with the Harmony Historical Society, and a guide at Harmony Museum.

She traveled extensively with her husband throughout the United States and she enjoyed helping and being around children.

Survivors include a sister, Helen Frost and her husband Andrew, Williamsburg, Ky.; a brother, Woodrow Parrish, Pikeville, Ky; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.  

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by seven sisters, Patsy Williams, Maudena Leigh, Ella Breese, Betty McCardwell, Mary Bryant, Josephine Payne and Catherine Spicer; and seven brothers, Boyd, Wallace, Leslie, Carl, Oscar, Roy and Charles Parrish.

Memorials in Mildred’s memory to any hospice organization of the donor’s choice.

Calling hours: 10 a.m. to time of service Saturday (3-1-14) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 306 Bessemer Avenue, Grove City.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Willard Morse, visitation pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City, officiating.

Burial: Harmony Cemetery.
