Anna June Crawford Bagnall

- — Anna June Crawford Bagnall of Jefferson Township passed away at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 85.

Born June 1, 1928, in East Lackawannock Township (Mercer), Mrs. Bagnall was a daughter of George W. and Mary Alice Sharp Crawford.

Anna was a 1946 graduate of Mercer High School. She was a homemaker and previously worked at Walt’s Grocery Store in Mercer.

Anna was a charter member of the Jefferson Township Civic League and worked many years in the arts and crafts department at the fair. As a member of Jefferson Township Fire Department, she worked bingo from its inception.

She belonged to Jefferson Township Grange for more than 25 years and worked as a watcher at the polls for the Republican party.

Anna enjoyed reading, puzzles and gardening.

She married David J. Locke on Aug. 10, 1947. Her husband, Howard Bagnall, whom she married Nov. 10, 1964, died Oct. 10, 2009.

Surviving are a daughter, Georgia Miller; and two sons, Christopher C. Bagnall and his wife Vicki; and Douglas S. Bagnall, all Mercer; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Bagnall; a son, David Wayne Locke; two brothers, Ralph W. and William Crawford; and six sisters, Genevieve Locke, Coreita McDowell, Georgia Zahniser, Eleanor Driscoll, Atlanta Jewell and Beulah Baccus.

Calling hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday (11-16-13) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 144 S. Pitt St., Mercer.

Service: Funeral service at 1 p.m. Sunday (11-17-13) in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. William P. Crooks, pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Mercer, officiating.

Interment: Mount Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Township.
