Frances ‘Lil Mama’ White Anderson

North Carolina resident had family in area


- — Frances “Lil Mama” White Anderson of East Spencer, N.C., daughter of the late Henry and Senora Brown White, was born Dec. 25, 1929, in Sharon, S.C. On Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, Mrs. Anderson exchanged life for life eternal. She was 83 and visiting in Sharon at the time of her death.

Mrs. Anderson attended the public schools of York County, S.C. She retired from Brian Nursing Center and previously worked at Syhart, both Salisbury, N.C.

A member of Southern City African Methodist Episcopal Zion Tabernacle, East Spencer, she served with the senior choir, culinary committee, evangelism board, Parent Body Missionary and Lay Council.

Her husband, Willie James “Preacher” Anderson; and a son, Billy Junior White, preceded her in death.

Those who shall forever cherish her memory are: a daughter, Evangelist Henrietta King and her husband Elder Anthony King, Sharon; a goddaughter, Elnora Kelley of Brookfield whom she loved like a daughter; a stepdaughter, Sharon Anderson, Jersey City, N.J.; brothers, her twin, Frank White, Rock Hill, S.C.; and Gainwell White, Copperas Cove, Texas; grandchildren, Fran Allen and her husband, the Rev. Dr. AIphonse Allen, Xenia, Ohio; Darrien White and his wife Zolinda, Solon, Ohio; Alisa and her husband Thomas Russell, East Spencer, with whom she resided; Michael White, Sharon; Luther Phifer and his wife Hattie, Anaheim, Calif.; and Teressa Lyles-Carroll, Baltimore; a stepgranddaughter, Stephanie Anderson; 22 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; great-grandchildren reared in the home, Portia White, Spencer, N.C.; and Payton Russell, East Spencer; sisters-in-law, Doris Scott, Baltimore; Lorene Massey and Ada Smith, both Salisbury; goddaughters, Brenda McLeod, also Salisbury; and Elnora Kelley of Brookfield, whom she loved like a daughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

The family would like to give special thanks to her nieces, Nora Mae White, Nancy White and Peggy Wherry, all Rock Hill; and her cousin, Frances Jamison, also Rock Hill; and to the Rev. Dr. Calvin Miller, the Rev. Jerry Miller, Bishop Sallie Saunders and Minister Michael Mitchell for their tireless support through visits, phone calls and prayers.
