Andrew C. DeLorenzo

Jefferson Twp. man was active church member

---- — Andrew C. DeLorenzo of 7193 W. Market St., Jefferson Township, passed away peacefully at 4:37 a.m. Saturday (3-30-13) in Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. He was 77.

Andrew was born in New Castle on Jan. 19, 1936, the son of the late Andrew and Doris (Hoover) DeLorenzo. He was a 1953 graduate of New Castle High School.

He was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Sharon, having served as head usher, and chairman of the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee, along with driving the church van for many years. He had worked as a truck driver for Dean Foods in South Pymatuning Township for more than 40 years.

Enjoying antique cars, Andrew was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America and its Shenango Valley Chapter, and the National DeSoto Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was the husband of Kathleen D. (Jones) DeLorenzo, whom he had been together with for 38 years. She survives at home. Also surviving are his daughter, Becky Yoho and her husband, Nick, of New Castle; and his sons, Andrew M. DeLorenzo and his wife, Tami of Wampum; Charles DeLorenzo and his wife, Stephanie, of Monroe, Geo.; and Jeffrey DeLorenzo and his wife, Heather, of Mercer. Also surviving are his six grandchildren, Jesse, Kellie, Zachary, Avery, Tyler, and Alaina DeLorenzo along with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Douglas and Toni Jones of Fowler, Ohio.

Donations in his memory may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 237 W. Silver St., Sharon, Pa., 16137.

Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday (4-2-13) at HAROLD W. STEVENSON FUNERAL HOME, 264 E. State St., Sharon; and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday (4-3-13) at First United Methodist Church, Sharon. Condolences to the family may be made by visiting

Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday (4-3-13) First United Methodist Church, 2237 W. Silver St., Sharon with Rev. Richard Roberts officiating.

Burial: Hillcrest Memorial Park Hermitage.
