Amy Beth Hinton

---- — Amy Beth Hinton, 495 Thornton St., Sharon, passed away unexpectedly of a pulmonary embolism Wednesday morning, April 10, 2013, in her home. She was 38.  

Amy was born July 1, 1974, in Sharon, a daughter of Robert J. and Dulcie Layman Hinton.

She grew up on Baldwin Avenue in Sharon and was a 1992 alumna of Sharon High School.

Amy graduated from the former Penn State Cosmetology and was a hairstylist at Lindy’s At The Beach in Hermitage.

For the last five years, she lived on Thornton Street with the love of her life and fiancé, Shon C. Derr. They had been together for 18 years and were planning to be married in October.

Amy loved to bake and was a huge Elvis fan.

She had a beautiful smile, a contagious laugh, a wonderful heart and was a very loving person who will be missed dearly by her family and many friends.

A devoted aunt, sister, daughter, friend and companion, she is survived by: her parents, who live in Florida; a sister, Kelly Hinton-Logan and her husband Greg Logan, Hermitage; a brother, Corey Hinton, New Port Richey, Fla.; her fiancé, Shon C. Derr, at home; and their son, Andrew Grace, Washington Crossing, Pa.; nephews, Bradley Hunyadi and Lucas Persons, both Hermitage; nieces, Rylee Persons, Hermitage; and Harley Hinton, New Port Richey; two grandsons, Jason and Jaidan Sherry; and her paternal grandmother, Ethel Hinton, Grove City.

Amy was preceded in death by her stepfather, Blasé Brush, and her grandparents, Robert and Jean Layman and Robert Hinton.
