St. Bart’s member, league bowler was Sawhill retiree


---- — Mary Anne Rosa, Sharpsville, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at 1:03 p.m. Saturday (8-17-13) in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. She was 75.

Mary Anne was born Sept. 16, 1937, to Lewis Anthony and Theresa Antoinette (Garofoli) Rosa Sr. in Sharon.

She graduated from Sharpsville High School, class of 1955.

Mary Anne worked in the accounting and administration department of Sawhill until her retirement.  

She was a lifelong member of St. Bartholomew’s Church in Sharpsville.

Mary Anne loved family gatherings and spending time with family. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, enjoyed being in bowling leagues and was very involved in prayer lines at St. Bartholomew’s Church.

She also enjoyed bus trips with her daughter, especially to the casino, and making scarves and Rosaries for others.

Mary Anne is survived by her daughter, Theresa “Tressi” Louise (Daniel) Jones, Pittsburgh; two brothers, Lewis A. (Donna L.) Rosa II; and Joseph A. (Kathy A.) Rosa, both Sharpsville; two nephews, Joseph A. Rosa Jr. and his companion Joana Mariotti; and Lewis A. (Elizabeth) Rosa III; and a niece, April M. Rosa.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Anthony Rosa Sr.; her mother, Theresa Antoinette Rosa; and her brother, Pasquale A. Rosa.

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Thursday (8-22-13) in St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville, with the Rev. Matthew J. Strickenberger, pastor, officiating.

Burial: St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
