Russell Dominic ‘Rusty’ Morocco

President of FHS class of ’81 was sports enthusiast


---- — A memorial service will be held Wednesday for Russell Dominic “Rusty” Morocco of 88 Mitchell Road, Shenango Township. He died at 4:23 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, in Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, after an extended illness. He was 49.

Mr. Morocco was born Sept. 17, 1963, in Sharon, a son of Russell J. Morocco and Joanne D. Toda Morocco.

A 1981 graduate of Farrell High School, he served as class president.

He had worked as a carpenter.

Rusty loved to play bocce and was an avid football fan and sports enthusiast. He was a member of the New Deal Club and the Italian Home, both in Farrell.

He was of the Catholic faith.

Rusty is survived by: his mother, Joanne Smith and her husband Glenn, West Plains, Mo.; his father, Russell J. Morocco, West Middlesex; his sister, Nina Morocco, Monroe, Mich.; his brother, Vincent Morocco, Pittsburgh; his aunts, Marianne Sincek and her husband Frank, Mercer; and Faith Gianoglio, Sharpsville; and his cousins, Shane Thomas and his wife Kirsten and family, Virginia; and John and Russell Davis, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Salvation Army Corps, 660 Fisher Hill St., Sharon, PA 16146.

Service: Memorial service at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Richard N. Carlson, pastor of Oakland Avenue United Methodist Church, Sharon, officiating.

Interment: Cremation services provided by the funeral home.
