Marjorie Michel

Sharon native, seamstress was church organist


CONWAY, S.C. — Marjorie Michel, Murrells Inlet, S.C., died Friday morning, Aug. 23, 2013, in Agape Rehabilitation of Conway. She was 74.

Born Oct. 3, 1938, in Sharon, Mrs. Michel was a daughter of Harry A. Johnson and Marie Kerr Johnson.

She served as the organist at United Church of Christ in South Boston, Va., before moving to Murrells Inlet.

Marjorie took great pride and joy in her sewing and needlepoint.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, George P. Michel.

Survivors include: her loving sons, Charles Michel and his wife Susan, Bella Vista, Ark.; and Scott Michel and his wife Tiffany, Charlotte, N.C.; granddaughters, Megan Michel and Stephanie Michel; and brother-in-law, Andrew Michel and his wife Shirley, and nephew, John Michel, all Southlake, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Arthritis National Research Foundation, 200 Ocean Gate, S-830, Long Beach, CA 90802.
