---- — Sharla Reneé Ranttila, 7 Navajo Trail, Girard, Ohio, passed away Friday morning, Aug. 30, 2013, following a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 80 in Mercer County. She was 34.

Sharla was born May 19, 1979 in Warren, Ohio, a daughter of William A. and Kristina M. (Eversole) Ranttila.

She was a 1997 graduate of Girard (Ohio) High School and attended Ohio State University, Columbus. She had earned an associate’s degree and was currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree at Kent State University’s Trumbull Campus.

Sharla was well known for her creativity, generosity and sense of humor. She was very artistic, enjoyed decorating and loved music, particularly the Beatles.

She was extremely devoted to her family, who will miss her immensely.

Surviving are: her loving father, William A. Ranttila, with whom she lived; her adoring sister, Dr. Nicole M. Ranttila, Cleveland; and a brother, Daniel T. Ranttila, Lady’s Island, S.C.

Sharla was preceded in death by her mother, Kristina M. Ranttila, on March 13, 2011; and her grandparents, including Thelma Eversole, with whom she was very close.
