Thomas 'Tom' W. Davis

Penn Power retiree enjoyed traveling, family

---- — Thomas “Tom” Davis, Hermitage, formerly of Nora Street, Clark, died unexpectedly in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief Illness. He was 80.

Mr. Davis was born Oct. 28, 1932 in Brookfield to Norman and Isabelle McCauley Hacker Davis.

He worked at Pennsylvania Power Co. in Clark as a lineman and then a foreman for 43 years. He retired in September 1994.

He graduated from Hubbard High School in 1950. He was a member of the Notre Dame Church, Hermitage.

A U.S.Army veteran, he served 18 months in the Korean conflict and received an honorable discharge. He belonged to the Hickory VFW and the Sharon American Legion. His favorite pastime was golfing, belonging to several groups in the area. He enjoyed traveling and taking cruises to the Caribbean and Mediterranean, golfing trips to Myrtle Beach and several trips to Las Vegas and Florida. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Tom was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.

Tom will be sadly missed by his many friends at the Hickory VFW and his breakfast buddies.

He is survived by a daughter, Susan Lynn Iacobucci and her husband, Paul, of Macedonia, Ohio; a son, Thomas W. Davis Jr., of Poland, Ohio; a sister June Baldwin of Maryland; two sisters-in-law Barbara Leo and Mary Sue Allan, both Hermitage, five grandchildren, Amanda and Isabella Davis and Leah, Daniel and Matthew Iacobucci and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Sabo, whom he married Oct. 27, 1956. She passed away March 22, 2010. Together they shared 53 years of marriage. Also, a grandson, Andrew Thomas Iacobucci; a sister Margaret (Peg) Taylor and a brother-in-law, Robert Sabo.

Service: 11:30 a.m Thursday (9-5-13) in the church with the Rev. Jeffrey Noble, pastor, as celebrant.

Burial: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
