Severina D. 'Rina' Dionisio

Farell High grad was a nurse for 40 years


---- — Severina D. Dionisio, of Youngstown, formerly of Farrell, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013 after an extended illness. She was 66.

Rina was born August 10, 1947, a daughter of Lenina (Giuliani) Dionisio and Virginio Dionisio.

Her uncle, Patrick Gallagher; and sister-in-law, Diane Dionisio whose kidney donation extended Rina's life, also preceded her in death.

Rina was a graduate of Farrell High School and went on to graduate as a registered nurse from St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, for 40 years. Prior to her illness Rina was active in the Newman Society. She cherished meetings of the club, a small group of fellow nurses that met monthly for decades.

Rina also loved crafting and she will be remembered for her great cooking.

Left to mourn Rina's passing are a sister, Connie Dionisio of Farrell; a brother, Dominic Dionisio of Erie; a nephew, Jeffrey Dionisio of Las Vegas; and her caregiver and friend, Linda Alexander of Austintown.
