Polk Center theraputic-activity aide was Lakeview grad

— Georgia L. Counselman, Sandy Lake Township, passed away peacefully at 1:25 p.m. Thursday (10-10-13) at home after a short illness.

Born Nov. 29, 1951, in Greenville, she was a daughter of Harold George and Lucille E. Jailett Counselman.

She was a graduate of Lakeview High School.

She had worked at Polk Center for more than 31 years as a therapeutic activity aide (TAA).

Georgia loved life and enjoyed cruises and casinos. 

Most of all she loved her grandchildren and spending time with them.

She married Duane L. “Butch” Brinker Sept. 3, 2005, and he survives at home; also surviving are two sons, Charles “Chuck” Ibbs, Sandy Lake, and Luke Ibbs and his wife Shelly, Fredonia; five grandchildren: Cody Kyko, Haley Kyko, Kage Ibbs, Carson Kyko and Allyson Ibbs; two sisters, Madeline Anderson and her husband Arthur “Tim” Hermitage, and Judith Tennant and her husband Ben, Stoneboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister Helen Mae Moore.

Service: A private funeral service was held with the Rev. Mark Rusnak of Asera Care Hospice, Erie, officiating, in the SCOTT A. BLACK FUNERAL HOME, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro.
