Joseph Michael Ragosta

1976 Mercer grad was CEO, consultant in Tulsa

- — TULSA Okla. – Joseph Michael Ragosta was born April 20, 1958, in Sharon to Vincent Anthony Ragosta and Millie Baker Ragosta. He died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at home in Tulsa. He was 55.

Mr. Ragosta graduated from Mercer High School in the class of 1976 and from Penn State University, University Park, in 1980, subsequently earning a Ph.D. in chemistry in 1986 at Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y.

He was chief executive officer and consultant for Associated Materials Processing and Environmental and Water Treatment Start-up, Tulsa.

Joseph is survived by a daughter, Kaitlin Rose; his mother, Millie Baker Ragosta; 10 siblings, Vincent Ragosta and his wife Brenda and their children Vincent and Rachel; Kathleen Everitt and her husband Ray and their children Nathan and Ian; Arthur Ragosta; Kevin Ragosta and his wife Margie and their children Seth and Christian; Ruth Goncus and her husband Lawrence and their children Justin, Emerson and Brian; John Ragosta and his wife Elizabeth and their children Gregory and Sarah; Anthony Ragosta and his wife Kathleen and their children Daniel and Amanda Tome; Margaret Wolfe and her husband David and their children Garrett, Allison, Andrew and Aleah Wolfe; William Ragosta and his wife Kelly and their children Benjamin and Nicholas; and Rosemary Petrunyak and her husband Michael and their children Maximillian and Mia; and eight great-nieces and -nephews, Shawn and Katie Llewski; James Ragosta; Abigal, Alexandra and Ronan Goncus; and Daniel and Matthew Tome.

Joseph is also survived by aunts, Mary Ann Prezgay and her husband Michael, Sharon; Vivian Tschopp and her husband David, Chambersburg, Pa.; Alberta Dunlap, Huntingdon, Pa.; and Evelyn Kelly, Mount Union, Pa.; uncles, Arthur Ragosta, Winterhaven, Fla.; and Chester Baker and his wife Barbara, Huntingdon; and many cousins.

The Rev. George Jakopac will celebrate a memorial Mass at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 in St. John the Evangelist’s Church on East Bishop Street, Bellefonte, Pa.
