Julia Mae Snyder Larson

Grove City woman was office manager, secretary


- — Julia Mae Snyder Larson of 435 N. Broad St., Grove City, formerly of McCandless Township, Allegheny County, passed away at 4:36 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, in Grove Manor, Grove City, after a brief illness. She was 98.

Mrs. Larson was born Feb. 11, 1915, in Grove City to Clarence Albert Snyder and Violet Isabelle Hawke Snyder.

She was a 1932 graduate of Grove City High School and a 1934 alumna of Grove City College.

Mrs. Larson was a former bookkeeper for Book Davis and the George BoBo Coal Co. After marriage, she moved and worked at McCandless Callery Chemical in Pittsburgh, where she was a secretary to the personnel director. She then went to work for Dr. Eugene Miller Dentistry, where she was office manager for 15 years.

Mrs. Larson was a Grove City resident since 1984 and a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City.

Her husband, William G. Larson, whom she married Aug. 1, 1953, died Aug. 23, 1983.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Esther Snyder and Mary Thatcher; and a brother, Albert Snyder.

Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday (10-24-13) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday (10-25-13) in the funeral home with Pastor Gail Zackrison of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Grove City, officiating.

Interment: Woodland Cemetery, Grove City.
