Yola Denease Watterson of Mercer passed away at 9:55 p.m. Thursday (10-24-13) in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was 77.
Mrs. Watterson was born Sept. 29, 1936, in Dunbar, W.Va., a daughter of Charles and Cindia Bostic Withrow.
She was a 1956 graduate of Dunbar High School.
Mrs. Watterson was employed at what was then Sharon General Hospital in the housekeeping department.
Yola was an active member of Sharpsville Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she belonged to the Ladies Aid Society, sang in the choir, was a Sunday school teacher, and held various roles in the church. She was a wonderful cook and a very talented singer.
Surviving are her husband, Rodney Watterson, whom she married June 20, 1987; four children, Debora and her husband Harold McKelvey, Sharon; Rodney Montgomery and his wife Penny, Middletown, Pa.; James Montgomery, Sharon; and Melissa and her husband Timothy L. Hassan, Wheatland; nine grandchildren, Jennifer McKelvey-Ford, Sonya McKelvey, Charles Montgomery, Kylan Montgomery, Taylor Montgomery, Noah Montgomery, Timothy G. Hassan, Travis Hassan and Tyler Hassan; and five great-grandchildren, Allison, Mia, Marc, Julie and Kaylee.
In addition to her parents, Yola was preceded in death by four brothers, Raymond, Clayton, Gerald and Brady Withrow.

Interment: Mount Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Township.
