Edward J. Kelley Sr.

Hempfield Township man worked at variety of jobs

- — Edward J. Kelley Sr. of 64 Donation Road, Hempfield Township, passed away at 1:07 a.m. Friday (10-25-13) in his residence after a brief illness. He was 70.

Ed was born in Ellwood City on Oct. 11, 1943, to Edward D. Kelley and Kathleen P. (LeFebvre) Kelley. He attended Slippery Rock High School and had been employed in the maintenance department at the Shenango Valley Mall, Hermitage. He had also been employed by Oakes and McClelland Co. and Trinity Industries, both in Greenville. For more than 20 years he was employed at Halstead Industries, Zelienople.

He married the former C. Dianne Neuner on April 11, 1970.

Ed was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville, and had been an active member of AA for the last 29 years.

He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, camping and putting his tractors to good use. A motorcyclist, Ed enjoyed riding his Honda Goldwing and his Suzuki Trike.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife, at home; two daughters, Tracey L. Ingram, Lakeland, Fla.; and Dawn Marie Durnell and her husband Jeffrey, Butler; three sons, Edward J. Kelley Jr., and his wife Jamie, Indianapolis, Ind.; Bryon Keith Kelley and his wife Christa, Lakeland, Fla.; and Joseph Paul Kelley, Little Elm, Texas; six sisters, Patricia Painter and her husband William, Evans City, Pa.; Mary E. Lechner, Pottsdam, N.Y.; Linda M. Nye, Slippery Rock; Kathleen P. Hempfling, Harmony, Pa.; Rose Marie Dean and her husband Donald, Sigel, Pa.; and Diane Toney and her husband Dave, New Castle; and 11 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 1965 Shenango Valley Freeway, Ste.2, Hermitage, Pa. 16148.
